I stopped buying physical books about 10 years ago, when we left Nashville, getting rid of 800+ books almost broke my heart me, so I went to the kindle (please note I say this with total mortification), then we moved to Portland, and Powell's Book Shop came into my life, currently I am only allowed in there for 30 minutes at a time, and with a limited amount of cash.
Y'all I love home decor stores, I can spend hours upon hours, just looking, getting ideas, planning for clients , staging, or for our home, I have two absolute favorites, one of them is also an antique store and one has a little bit of everything. I adore City Home, they have locations all over the Greater Portland Metro area. Then there is this little gem of a store called Poppy & Dale Vintage in Downtown Gresham, it's just awesome. ( Also don't think downtown Gresham doesn't have a ton to offer!)
In Vancouver I stop in Urban Barn House every chance I can get and at Not To Shabby they both have something for everyone, from cards, to clothing,to home decor. When in Sellwood, I always always stop at Fushia and the Twisted Croissant, you can thank me later. Then we can't forget Kids At Heart, SE Hawthorne, books & toys galore.
On my way to the coast, Farmhouse Coffee and Flowers and Fluff, are must stops, and a few of you might have gifts coming to you from these cuties! They have yummy coffee, cute gift items and for real the banana cake at Farmhouse should be illegal.
Once I hit Astoria and Seaside, it's game over and I am not allowed to stop often, but when I do Cargo HAS ALL THE THINGS, and I MEAN ALL OF THEM. Then Weird Sisters Freak Boutique is great, you can find something for the nerdist of nerds. There is a snow ladder at Phog Bounders Antique Mall that I can not stop thinking about. They have tons of cool treasures from Astoria and the Oregon Coast there too. Which Leads us to RiverSea Gallery, I often wonder how much I would need to win in the lottery to buy every single piece they have, it's my favorite, when you all show me pieces you have picked up there.
This brings us to my BELOVED Long Beach Peninsula, you know how we go to Target for a little quick hit of dopamine, well that is what BOLD is for me. I might be meeting clients on the back porch, with a coffee in our hands, or I might just need to walk around and see some beautiful artwork, it's just the best, and you can always find a gift here for everyone. Then there is Hobo Junction, it's perfect for the all of the antique floats, plus a few cool records and other items. Which leads us to Ship Wrecords and Moor, they have a little bit of everything to bring joy to your heart.
